Shift Above 2 Roseland

We came to Shift Above 2 (Mike) through someone s recommendation, because we were unhappy with another driving school where my daughter went through her first 6 hours of driving lesson but still didn t feel comfortable with driving. Mike was super friendly and thorough (just what a mother needs for peace of mind). We booked two 90 minutes lessons with him and he went over the time both times to ensure that my daughter gets what she needs. We also booked a one way trip to the road test, including a quick final practice which was extremely helpful. My daughter passed her test smoothly and is comfortably driving now. I have a younger daughter who I plan to send to Mike too when it s her turn. I would definitely recommend him!

Mike gave really thorough explanations throughout the whole process - he explained and demonstrated in a way that would allow me to think through the steps and repeat them in different cars and scenarios too. I was nervous before the first lesson but was driving on the highway by the third without issue. Would recommend to others!

Completed my 6 hour driving requirement with my instructor Mike. Before I started driving, I was worried about maintaining control of the vehicle while in motion resulting in an injury of myself or others. I had no road experience, and the idea of operating the vehicle was nerve-wracking to say the least. Im excited to be able to depend on myself instead of my parents in terms of transportation, and even drive them places at times. Mike was also very kind and fun to be around, which helped ease my initial stress.

Mike has been very patient with my son in teaching the driving. He explained all the driving techniques visually as my son is more of visual person. Hes always on time and communicated well in advance, if there is any change in plan. He has a very clear way of explaining everything and making sure, my son understands how to drive, parallel park and follow other rules. More importantly, he communicates with parents on areas of improvement after every class and doesnt rush. I recommend Mike and his driving school to any parent who wants their kids to learn driving in a short time with proper techniques.

After I passed my written/knowledge test at my areas DMV I began training with this company to help steer me into the right direction and steps I needed for being on the road. My uncle got me started on the basics but this company really helped me get a more detailed and helpful grasp on my general knowledge. With everything I was taught from my instructor Im now able to really feel comfortable and confident with being behind the wheel. In my opinion I dont believe Ill lose anything that was already taught to me and Im very grateful to have a new way to travel and more freedom.

I worked with Mike my instructor for almost 2 years and he is a great instructor. He taught me how to do road test drills and learn to drive on the road/highway. Mike was always patient and explained things to me. He even gave me notes and diagrams from our lessons. Some lessons were a little harder than others but Mike helped me and always came back for my next lesson. I recently took the road test and passed it the very first time. I couldnt have done that without Mike teaching me how to understand the rules of the road and to drive. I would recommend him to others kids who might need a little extra time and patience to learn to drive.

I loved my experience with Shift Above 2! I had a driving license from another country that expired a while back, so I had to go through the whole process again. I ve been postponing getting my license because I had a small accident years ago and never drove again, it gave me massive anxiety to think of trying again. Michael was so patient and worked with me to make me comfortable and confident driving again, and it payed off - I just passed my road test on the first try! Definitely recommend!

I just finished my 6 hours at Shift Above 2. My first lesson was during a day of moderate snow. I thought the lesson would be canceled due to weather, but thankfully the instructor, Mike, also runs an adverse weather driving program and was well adept to handle it. When the snow started to pile up, I was getting more nervous, but he was very good at showing how to control the car. I quickly felt more comfortable and confident with his instruction. The information Mike gives is very helpful and specific for a road test. After my six hours, I feel totally prepared to start driving with my permit in a car without an instructor s break.

Mike is an excellent instructor who gives very clear directions and is extremely patient and understanding. He helped me not only learn but master skills like parallel parking, u turns etc in no time. I have worked with other instructors in Jersey and I can safely say Mike is the best! As someone who struggles with anxiety, I felt very calm and relaxed while working with him. I highly recommend Mike!

Mike was excellent! He was very flexible and worked around our schedule to help my son complete his behind the wheel hours as soon as possible. He was patient and gave great advice to our son. Jayden was confident and passed the road test on his first attempt. Mike was even willing to schedule some time to have extended practice before Jayden took the test. He was very professional and we highly recommend him.
