A.B.A.T.E. of Anchorage Motorcycle Training Range

The driving school is nestled in Campbell Park, Anchorage, in a parking lot with a tan Connex. It's open all days from 10 AM to 6 PM, and they're always ready to help you become a confident and safe rider.

They offer three levels of rider courses based on experience: Basic, Experienced, and Advanced. These programs are designed to enhance your riding experience and help you stay safe on the road.

After passing the Basic Rider, 3 Wheel Basic Rider, or Experienced Rider course, getting your endorsement is a breeze! They'll issue a course completion card for you to take to DMV or UMV, which waives your driving test. You'll still need to take a 20-question written test at DMV, UMV, or Alaska Leather.

Their training bikes are lightweight and maneuverable, making learning a joy. Courses start at the end of April and are offered through September, weather permitting.

If you're looking to learn how to ride a motorcycle, this is the place to be. Call them at or visit their website for more information.

A.B.A.T.E. is truly outstanding! Before this, my only experience was with a bicycle no motorized dirt bikes or anything similar. I started with the IME introduction class, which provided me with a solid foundation of motorcycle knowledge. Then, I took the Basic Rider Course. Although I didnt progress to the next session initially, I appreciated that safety is a top priority in this high-risk sport. Bonnie was incredibly kind and accommodating when she rescheduled me. She took time out of her day...
to share her inspiring testimonies as a beginner rider, which was very encouraging. Now, Im thrilled to be standing in line at the DMV/UMV to get my motorcycle license because I passed the Basic Rider Course! A huge thanks to the various staff and the supportive motorcycle community. Special shoutout to Jo and Anastasia for their professional instruction they were thorough, paced the lessons well, and made the experience fun and informative. They shared many valuable tips and tricks, and I particularly enjoyed the ah-ha group reflections after each exercise. A.B.A.T.E. truly sets the foundation for this exciting journey! Im already looking forward to scheduling my Basic Rider Course 2 class soon. Highly recommend!

Learned a lot and the instructors gave good criticism while also not making you feel terrible about a mistake. They were very uplifting, funny and never once did they single out someone for a mistake. They provided a wide range of bikes to chose from ktm, royal enfield, and kawasaki. I will be going there in the future for any future courses.

I recently took the basic riding course with Allie and Carly as the main instructors, with their dad and Rick assisting. Their instruction was the perfect blend of being firm, friendly, fair and frank. I felt safe at all times. As someone who has never ridden a motorcycle before, I was surprised at how well the curriculum flowed and how quickly everyone in the class learned. Even if you re not interested in getting licensed, this class was was a fun and entertaining was to spend the weekend I recommend to anyone wanting to learn a new skill!
